| Travelling H1N1 risk Jul 17, 2009 Hello there, My name is Bruno, my CD4 has been a steady 550-650 for 2 years now. I live in France but will be headed back to England for a 3 week holiday in August. I'm rather out of the loop when it comes to the English news, but I glanced at the BBC news site today and was staggered to see 10000 confirmed cases of H1N1 and more and more deaths piling up. I may be overreacting: but should I consider NOT going to England? The impression I get from numerous articles on line that HIV + flu = death. Very pessimistic but I can't help but panic a little. |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hi Bruno, Unfortunately H1N1 has become a pandemic. France is not immune by any means. I see no reason to restrict your travel or change your holiday plans. The WHO (World Health Organization) is tracking the pandemic closely and will put out travel warning notices if and when travel restrictions become warranted. Bon voyage! Don't forget to wash your hands! Dr. Bob | ||||||||||
