| Doctor What Should I Do? Jul 14, 2009 Hi Doctor Bob, I am seeing a psychotherapist about my HIV/Aids fears because although I tested negative way past 6 months, I still get panic and anxiety attacks over HIV/Aids and freak out about having symptoms. I hate being like this so I went to her for help with this and all she says to me is "get tested", then I give the usual reply "I did get tested". She acts as though I have never been tested. Should I get another test? I have not been at any more riks and I wanted her to help me accept my test. That's why I see her. Liz |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hi Liz, You certainly don't need another HIV test. Rather, what you need is a more competent psychotherapist. The one you currently have isn't doing you any favors and is demonstrating a shocking lack of understanding. Ask your general medicine doctor for a referral to someone who actually listens to what you are saying! Good luck Liz. Dr. Bob | |||||||||
