 Hi, No "brain fog" is not the same thing as dementia. True dementia is a much more serious clinical condition involving brain malfunction (also somewhat different from Dubya's type of brain malfunction, which continues to defy clinical classification!) The medical term for "brain fog" is HIV-associated neurocognitive disorder or HAND, for short. It can be as annoying as depression, another mental condition seen frequently in those of us who are "virally enhanced." Luckily there are tactics and treatments to combat both of these conditions.
