Can I woohoo?
Jun 24, 2009

Hey Doc,

I feel like I should be woohooing but I can't shake the fears and anxiety. My situation in a nutshell: BF cheated, status still unknown he had +elisa and -WB.

I was tested at ~35 Days via rapid test oral swap at an HIV clinic, (my mouth was really dry cuz I was nervous as hell) came back non-reactive.

@ 3months 2weeks I did an FDA approved home test kit (blood sample) which also came back negative.

Can I wohoo?

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hi,

Yes, both you and your BF can WOO-HOO. A positive ELISA plus a negative Western Blot is considered a negative HIV test. Your negative HIV-antibody test at three months, two weeks is definitive and conclusive. Consequently it's WOO-HOO time for the whole family.

Be well. Stay well.

Dr. Bob
