Response from Dr. Frascino
Hi, You are HIV negative. Your first test was a false-positive/indeterminate result. This is not uncommonly seen during or after pregnancy. Pregnancy can induce nonspecific cross-reacting antibodies that can confound HIV-antibody screening tests. You can read about this in the archives. We have an entire chapter devoted to pregnancy. Stop worrying. All is well, including you! Good luck with your upcoming new addition. Dr. Bob | |||||||||
