Laundry together with HIV person's clothes
Apr 28, 2009

i've searched cdc but didn't cover this question so here goes...

my housemate/bff is HIV positive. he's relatively healthy, strong as a horse and running a multi-national company. we live together (non-sexual of course) and our maid washes our laundry together (underwear included). am i at risk? should i separate our washing? appreciate your help very much. thank you in advance

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hi,

The HIV-acquisition/transmission risk from co-mingling your tighty-whities in the Maytag is completely nonexistent no matter how spunked up your sexy 2xist boxer-briefs may be.

Dr. Bob
