| Effects of HPV on testing Apr 7, 2009 Doctor Frascino, I read that there are certain types of HPV that have been know to delay HIV seroconversion. I have HPV, so how long do I have to wait for a conclusive result? Please and thank you. |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hi, Where did you read that? Perhaps in "The Journal of Irreproducible Results???" Whoever wrote it was misinformed. HPV infection does not affect the body's ability to make specific anti-HIV antibodies. Nor does it affect the duration of the window period or affect the result of any HIV diagnostic screening or monitoring tests, OK? Dr. Bob | |||||||||
