russian roulette and good karma part 2

Mar 23, 2009

hi doctor. i got my western blot test results and it was negative along with other std tests. im definitley not in the window period cause last time i had unprotected sex with these girls was in august 2008. am i really negative or should i get a elisa test? thanks for your help and karma.

Response from Dr. Frascino

Seems like my good-luck/good-health karma continues to work its magic! You are indeed "really negative." Even though an isolated Western Blot test without first getting a repeated reactive ELISA (or rapid test) as not the proper test to order, the real concern was "false positive" results. That your result was negative is conclusive and definitive. HIV is not your problem. No way. No how. No additional tests, including an ELISA, are needed. In fact the only thing you need to do now is yell WOO-HOO!

Be well. Stay well.

Dr. Bob
