| Lubricant that kills HIV Mar 12, 2009 Hi Robert Firstly can I just say how informative your site is - it's put my mind at ease re many topics. I am HIV- and in a relationship with an HIV+ partner. I read in the following report that certain lubricants have been shown to inhibit the growth of HIV and indeed kill off the virus within 5 minutes. Do you know if this is true and what would your recommendation be? http://www.jbrha.com/archives/2004_subs/vol18no3-4/JB3_268_274Nguyen.pdf I have been through your forum but could only find posts from around 7 years ago so wondered whether there were any updates. Thanks James |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hi, Sexual lubricants have not been shown to significantly inhibit HIV or prevent HIV transmission. James, you need to rely on latex or polyurethane condoms, not lubricants, to prevent HIV. Dr. Bob | |||||||||
