Mothers
Feb 8, 2009

So i read this question that "martini mom" wrote about a piercing and to help her a bit... usually a 20 gauge is used for piercing noses. she had said 16. 20 guage is a bit smaller which would mean "if" blood was present there would be much less.

Is 20 gauge really applicable to infect? I mean realistically?

I agree she shouldn't worry, too many "what if's" and variables to make it even rational.

I will donate $75! my new year resolution is to donate more to foundations/organizations. I would be honored. do you accept checks?

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hi,

Theoretically any hollow-bore needle could transmit the virus.

Regarding donations to the Robert James Frascino AIDS Foundation, sure, the foundation graciously and gratefully accepts checks (and essentially all other forms of donations as well).

Be well. Stay well.

Dr. Bob
