| Unusual hand shake Dec 11, 2008 I recently shook hands with an hiv positive man. He had dry/peeling hands. Is there a risk of transmission there. I don't remember if I washed my hands after. I have read that you can't get hiv from a handshake, but what about from someone with dry/peeling palms? I'm not sure if there was noticeable blood or not and not sure if I had cuts. Thank you doctor :) Santa's sending a donation! |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hi, You have read that "you can't get HIV from a handshake." And now read this as well: You can't get HIV from a handshake from someone with dry/peeling palms." OK? I'll leave some home-baked cookies (or perhaps glow-in-the-dark condoms?) for Santa. Dr. Bob | |||||||||
