CAN I GET HIV FROM CONTAMINATED GEL
Aug 14, 2008

I contracted syphilis, gonorrhaea, chlamydia & other bacteria from a contaminated gel during a routine gyn. examination at my doctor earlier this year. Could I been infected with HIV as well? Test at 6 wks negative.

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hello,

You contracted "syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and other bacteria" from a contaminated gel during a routine gynecology examination????? WHAT????? Sorry sweetie, I don't buy your story. And I would guess you're just trying to get me to respond to your query about possible contracting HIV from a routine gynecologic examination. I value honestly, integrity and veracity. So if you'd like to try submitting a more truthful question, without the improbable background story, I'll consider responding, OK? (By the way, I think your nose is growing longer . . . .)

Dr. Bob
