Checking for bleeding before oral sex

Posted on Jul 9, 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dr. Gallant

I need your help here. My wife is positive from her ex husband(bisexual). We always use condoms for sex but she doesnt when she performs oral on me. Often before hand I ask to inspect her mouth to make sure I dont see blood.. She gets very upset and says this is not a risk but I sometimes bleed a litte in my mouth.. Do I need to be doing this? I dont mean to make her cry and she doesnt want to use a condom..Am I being smart or am I just confused as to how this is spread.. I just want to be safe

If I am wrong please tell me

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I can see why your wife is upset. Inspection of her mouth before oral sex is lousy foreplay, and will do nothing to stimulate her desire or yours. You're not going to get HIV from a blow job, so just lie back and enjoy it.

In general, I agree with Dr. Gallant's comments, particularly ". . . inspection of her mouth before oral sex is lousy foreplay and will do nothing to stimulate her desire or yours . . . ."
