| Interesting Lap Dance question Jul 5, 2008 Dear Dr. Frascino, I read few of your answers and found your answers very supporting for people. I had a root canal done on one of my tooth last am which went fairly ok. I am not sure but there may be some tissue cutting during the procedure but I dont see any active bleeding. The same night I went to astrip club and had few dances with a stripper. We never kissed on the lips. But she kissed my neck and I mildly licked her nipples and breasts during the dances. Later I realized and became afraid if this action of licking and kissing her body may cause HIV transmission, though I did not see any wet secretions on her body, keeping in mind that my mouth may have a fresh wound there. I will be really thankful if you can identify my risk. Please guide me how to donate. Thanks Danial |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hello Danial, Your HIV-acquisition risk is completely nonexistent. I see no cause for concern whatsoever. If HIV were transmitted that easily, it would have wiped out the planet long ago. If you remain worried, get a single rapid HIV test at the three-month mark. Personally, I do not feel HIV testing is medically warranted. However, if it will calm your residual (completely unwarranted) worries and put them permanently to rest, it will be worth the effort. The results will undoubtedly be negative. Donation information for the Robert James Frascino AIDS Foundation can be found on the foundation's Web site at www.concertedeffort.org. Be well. Stay well. (Yes, indeed, you are well!)
