What are the odds? Apr 11, 2008 I just a positive HIV test through a plasma donating center. I have never had sex, drugs, or anything (I swear) on any list I've found that could have given me HIV. What are the odds the test is wrong? |

 Hello, If indeed you've had absolutely no exposure to HIV your chances of being HIV positive are nonexistent and your test at the plasma donating center must be a false-positive test. Remember, blood banks and donation centers are not designed to be HIV test sites. They use screening tests that are very sensitive to protect the blood supply. By doing so they error on the side of caution and not infrequently will detect some false-positives. Repeat testing with more specific HIV tests will give you an accurate answer regarding your HIV status.
