4th try, donation made
Mar 21, 2008

i wrote a few minutes ago...i just made a donation. please, i'm very anxious. i've already had one bad diagnosis this year, an extremely rare side effect from medication. please help.

I had a very large; deep cut (for a paper cut) approx 1cm long and .8cm deep. Curiously, I got this cut from a Curious George Book. Anyhow being curious, I went to a strip club and had a lap dance. During the dance I was touching the stripper, and she was touching herself and rubbing herself all over. Hence, I am worried about her vaginal fluid entering my cut. I think it was open as it stung with hand sanitizer after, and bled the next day in the shower. I do not know her HIV status yet do know she was from a country with a very high rate of HIV/AIDS. Any words to help during my wait time to get tested would be much appreciated.

Thanks Again. Curious

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hello Curious,

You went from reading a Curious George book to the Badda Bing? Hmm . . . one can only guess where you'll wind up after reading Winnie the Pooh!

Your HIV-acquisition risk remains negligible at best. Paper cuts are not exactly gaping wounds. I see no cause to freak out. Being "curious", you can get a single rapid HIV test at the three-month mark. The statistical odds are astronomically in your favor, OK?

Good luck.

Dr. Bob
