Response from Dr. Frascino
Hi Fellow Italian,
Thanks for your thanks and your concern about my well-being. My personal battle to coexist with the virus continues with the not unexpected ups and downs associated with those of us who have been lucky enough to survive this long. I remain the most optimistic person on the planet, but also a realist. I continue to feel the best way to battle HIV is to lead and enjoy a purposeful, compassionate and passionate life. My philosophy on life is summed up well by the following quote from George Bernard Shaw: "This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one. The being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy . . . . Life is no brief candle for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations." -- George Bernard Shaw Be well. Stay well. And please give your sons kisses and hugs from me as well.
