Feb 20, 2008

dear doc bob,i felt i had to share my story,in the hope that it will eleviate some peoples fears.i will keep it brief i gave a guy unprotected oral sex(im a girl)i was utterly convinced i had hiv due to having so many symptoms.8 weeks after the event i had the most horrific case of tonsillitis which lasted a week then returned 2 weeks later.then all these other symptoms followed over the next year, another sore throat, terrible fatuige, ulcers, warts on hand,a nasty cold, tinnitus, weight loss, burning sensation in my top lip.and just like dr bob has posted before you cant go by symptoms i just received my second negative please dont torture yourself and waste your life worrying like i did i lost the whole of my little boys 5th year to worrying go get tested,i truly belive i wore my body down so much it couldnt fight and thats why i got all this stuff.wee scottish lassie.dr bob ur the best x

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hi Wee Scottish Lassie,

Thank you for taking the time to write and share your story as well as your newfound insights. You're correct: Some worried wells won't believe it; but hopefully some will. Hopefully your advice may well help get them out of their self-inflicted worried-well hell sooner.

WOO-HOO Wee Scottish Lassie (better late than never!).

Be well. Stay well.

Dr. Bob
