SPOUSE HAS HEP B, I WAS VACCINATED 7 YRS AGO, AM I AT RISK?
Apr 14, 2001

I AM A NURSE, VACCINATED AGAINST HEP B, 7 YRS AGO. MY PARTNER OF 13 YRS TESTED + FOR HEP B, 6 MONTHS AGO. AM I AT RISK. RECENT HEP B BLOOD WORK, SAYS I SHOW ANTIBODIES OF HEP B, DO I HAVE HEP B?

Response from Mr. Kull

90% of people who receive the Hepatitis B vaccination series (three shots over a specific period of time) will maintain a protective level of antibodies to Hepatitis B virus. Your doctor should be able to provide serologic testing that determines whether or not you have actually been infected with Hepatitis B virus.
