my partner is hiv positive
Sep 2, 2007
I found out that my partner was hiv positive because I found pills, she would have never told me, but my question is, if she "had a blood transfusion" when she was 2 and is it possible that she would have aids now? she is 31 and never took the medications until now
Response from Dr. Frascino
Your partner's blood transfusion at age 2, a full 29 years ago, would not be the cause of her having to start HIV medications recently. If she's telling you that's her only potential risk, I would have to question her veracity. Or perhaps her memory just has convenient gaps, like Alberto Gonzales's!
