| Pre-semen Sep 2, 2007 Hello Dr. Frascino, Are there any (or many) known cases of women who got HIV infected through vaginal intercourse without ejaculation? I.e. can you practically, not only in theory, get infected by pre-semen only? I had protected vaginal sex with a guy who then admitted he never had an HIV test. Probably because he has too many reasons to be scared. Now I'm scared because during the intercourse I noticed that the condom came off. I might have been unprotected for about 2-4 minutes. It was long before he ejaculated, though. We also took a new condom right after I noticed and I was protected again until the end. I would be SO thankful if you could answer. |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hello, This risk would have to be "anecdotal" or "theoretical," because to actually conduct human experiments would, of course, be unethical. If you remain worried, a three-month rapid test will provide you with an accurate test result. Your risk remains extremely low at best. Good luck. Dr. Bob | |||||||||
