Dr. Bob, have you seen this crazy story coming out of Indonesia?!?!
Some legislators are considering having HIV+ people tracked with a microchip. What a disgrace?!?! First of all, how can they treat human beings like this? And secondly, just what on God's green Earth do they think they are going to accomplish through this master plan?
Now come on Doc, you have to admit that if this goes down, this makes even W look like a genius. Now THAT is saying a lot!
Anyway, thanks for all the great work you do. And here's to hoping that you and other "virally enhanced" folks don't get fitted with a tracking device like some wild animal. Good God!
Response from Dr. Frascino
If you read the history of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, you'll find other equally crazy schemes to identify, label and control HIV-infected folks, including tattooing them or rounding them all up and putting them in camps, etc. The Indonesian microchip is just the latest in a long list of bad ideas. As I understand it, this microchip idea is being proposed for HIVers who "turn aggressive" and are purposefully infecting people which of course, sounds more like a bad (and outdated) science fiction movie plot than reality. At any rate, they are a long way off from seriously even considering this absurd proposal and if they ever did seriously even consider it, the human rights outcry would be significant.
