can a postive women have sex with a positve man ?
| Response from Dr. Frascino
Well of course she can, silly. She can have sex with a positive man, a negative man, a positive woman, a negative woman and/or a sex toy. And in some red square states in the center of the country, I'll bet farm animals may also be sometimes involved. However, perhaps what you actually asked wasn't exactly what you wanted to know. I'll take a wild guess and suggest that you might be wondering if two HIV-positive folks can have unprotected sex, right? The worry here is possible superinfection acquiring another more aggressive strain of HIV. This is indeed a risk. Exactly how often it actually occurs is very difficult to determine. My advice is to continue using latex condoms, not only to prevent possible superinfection, but also other STDs and unwanted pregnancy. You can read much more about superinfections in the archives.
