Hello Doctor Frascino,
I would like to say that you have done amazing works for all people around the world. I think that if your forum can be translated into many languages, many lives can be saved by your knowledges sharing. Please tell me if donation can be made through citibank visa from overseas. My bonus will be out next month :)
Here is my concern, i was having a vacation in the beach and got a big open wound from accident. The lifeguards give me antiseptic solution (iodine solution, unknown expiry dates). What makes me concerned is that so many people have used that antiseptic bottle and some with HIV infected blood could touch the tip of the bottle. Although my open wound didn't come into contacts with the tip of the bottle, i am still having this fear. My girlfriend laughed at me when I told her this incident. Could you advice me the risk of transmission?
should i get tested? or its just wasting money?
Once again you are my hero, God Bless U :)
Sincerely Yours, Adil

Your HIV risk from the iodine solution bottle is completely nonexistent. HIV does not survive outside the body and certainly not in iodine solution. Testing is not warranted. However, if you just can't stop worrying about this nonexistent risk, you could get an HIV rapid test. Accurate results are available in as few as 20 minutes. Your result will undoubtedly be negative; however, this may be the quickest and most effective way to put your irrational fears permanently to rest.
As for Citibank Visa donations to The Robert James Frascino AIDS Foundation, yes, they are warmly accepted (as are all credit cards, PayPal checks, money orders, direct wire transfers, etc.). Just visit the Foundation's Web site at www.concertedeffort.org and click on the "donate" tab. The Foundation's Web site is undergoing a major redesign, which we hope will be coming online very soon.
Be well. Stay well. (I am quite certain you are indeed well!)
