considering PEP please answer ASAP Apr 9, 2007 I am not sure which forum to ask this in. I am very scarred....and considering PEP please answer. I promise a donation to your charity. I recently had sex with a prostitute in Thailand. she was on her period (though I didn't realize it at the time). I wore a condom but she put her finger in my rectum (no more than 1 cm) and I am scared she may have had HIV infected blood on her hand. I am considering PEP and really want to know my chance of contact from this single incident.... |

 Hello, I would not recommend PEP for this hypothetical risk not knowing if she was poz or negative, not knowing if she had blood on her fingers, minimal anal insertive of 1 cm, etc. If you are concerned, a single HIV-antibody test at the three-month mark is all that I would suggest.
