| Blowing Nose Apr 9, 2001 The other day I was on a plane trip sitting next to a gay couple. One of the guys gently blow his nose into a tissue, but I felt like a tiny droplet of nasal discharge splattered against my left cheek. No blood or anything visible...but I was just wondering if there is any transmission risk. |

Response from Mr. Kull
You might catch a cold, but probably nothing more than that. HIV is not airbourne, meaning that you won't get infected from sneezes, coughs, talking, and the like. Even if you could be infected by a droplet of "nasal discharge," no fluid came into contact with your mucous membranes or bloodstream. RMK | |||
