| HIV Transmitted through sharing of a cocaine bullet Jan 5, 2007 I know using drugs is a very stupid thing to do. I am seeking help on that issue. My question is can a person contract HIV by sharing a cocaine bullet (small plastic device used to snort cocaine) with someone known to be HIV positive? No needles, no injections, no sex. Just snorting. Signed Flippin Idiot |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hello Flippin, Merely sharing the bullet would not be an HIV risk. However, as you probably know, nose candy can sometimes lead to nosebleeds. If there was fresh HIV-infected blood on the bullet and you snorted that up with your coke, well then there would be at least a theoretical risk for transmission. If you're worried, get a single HIV test at the three-month mark. As for your assessment of snorting coke, I couldn't agree more. Dr. Bob | |||||||||
