| hiv through clothes Oct 22, 2006 hey doc, its the lousy ambulance worker again, umm, doc would hiv transmitt if a couple blood drops fell onto my leather boot while helping a guy from a car crash? i didnt recognize it but when i got home i noticed. i think the chances are remote , but jost for assurance, it is possible i may catch hiv or am i being stupid? thanx |

Hi Ambulance Guy, No, the chances of contracting HIV from getting a couple of drops of blood on your leather boot are not "remote"! Rather they are completely nonexistent! If HIV were that easily transmitted, it would have wiped out the entire planet long ago. Ambulance Guy, I suggest you spend some time perusing the archives and learning more about exactly how HIV is and is not transmitted, OK? It will safe you a ton of worry. Stay well.
