safer sex w/HIV neg.
Oct 13, 2006

I'm a long term non progressor of 22 year.I'm undetectable & Ts averaging 750.I've had sex with only 1 lover & we always used a condom, but not for oral sex & rimming & he was negative then & is still negative today & was a bottom.I,ve now been single & abstinate for 8 years & now have met someone I want to get intimate with & he's neg. & knows all about my status. How do you feel about this semi safe sex behavior for the times now? We've descussed all this & he is comfortable with it.I'm comfortable except alittle iffy on rimming him.I'm a top & the rimmer. How unsafe to what level is me rimming him without a dental dam in todays times? Thanks

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hi,

A twenty-two-year non-progressor? BRAVO! Keep it up. Your situation gives us all hope!

Regarding rimming, the story really hasn't changed over the years. There have been no recorded cases of HIV transmission from rimming or getting rimmed. However, there are other risks. Hepatitis A, intestinal parasites and herpes can be easily passed through rimming without a barrier.

Stay safe. Stay well.
