Conflicting CDC information
Sep 20, 2006

Dr. Bob,

In this document at this link: http://www.cdc.gov/nchstp/od/gap/pmtct/Trainer%20Manual/Adobe/Module_6TM.pdf#search=%22Module_6TM.pdf%22

On page 11, there is this statement: "A negative result usually means that the person is not infected with HIV. In rare instances, a person with a negative or inconclusive result may be in the "window period." This is the period of time between the onset of infection with HIV and the appearance of detectable antibodies to the virus. The window period lasts for 4 to 6 weeks but occasionally up to 3 months after HIV exposure. Persons at high risk who initially test negative should be retested 3 months after exposure to confirm results."

Does this mean that the CDC has changed their policy? Have they been reading this forum? Did you have something to do with this?

Thank you for all you do and thank God for presidential term limits!!

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hello,

Conflicting information coming out of a governmental organization???? You mean like WMDs vs. NO WMDs; the United States torture policy vs. Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions; Iraq is linked to 9/11 vs. Iraq is not linked to 9/11; there are no secret CIA prisons abroad vs. the recently acknowledged secret CIA torture centers abroad; Bush is an idiot vs. Bush is a moron. (OK, there are no conflicting opinions there!)

Has the CDC been reading this forum? Who knows? But I'm sure the NSA has been tapping my phones.

If you want accurate HIV information, get it here. If you want gobbledygook conflicting nonsense, check with Bush/Cheney and Cronies (The Asses of Evil).

Dr. Bob
