HIV Transmission
Sep 20, 2006

Sorry, i have trawled the archives for an answer but cannot find anything. I have been worrying about an incident that happened. The dirty strap of a friends handbag (she had just had it on the floor in the toilets) fell onto the food i was eating, i stupidly ate the food - is there a risk of HIV transmission? I really appreciate your help on this - am worried. Thanks

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hello,

You couldn't find the answer to your question in the archives? Well, thanks for looking nonetheless. Of course one wonders if you really expected to find a slew of questions dealing with HIV transmission via dirty handbag straps landing on your Big Mac and super-sized fries. Can HIV transmission occur this way if you gobble down the "tainted" Happy Meal? The short answer is no. The longer answer is nope.

Buon appetito!

Dr. Bob
