| hpv and hiv Apr 4, 2001 Sir: About 6 months ago, a small round blemish was on my tongue that appeared to be hpv. it disappeared after 3 weeks. about 3 months later, it appeared gain but was much smaller and disappeared in three days. would this be a sign that I am hiv+? please help!!! |

Unless you are skilled at identifying and diagnosing HPV lesions, I would advise against diagnosing yourself. It is possible that you had a couple of canker sores, which are pretty harmless (see my response to "Canker Sores" http://www.thebody.com/Forums/AIDS/SafeSex/Archive/Symptoms/Q9668.qna). If you are concerned that you have oral HPV, see your doctor while you are having symptoms. Nothing you describe indicates one way or the other that you are HIV infected.
