Ive been HIV + for 3 years...no meds needed yet. however i did just get blood work done that says im at 308 t cells with a 3,500 vl. I keep getting these sores on my anus, they hurt, are kind of raw.. just one sore at a time heals up in a couple weeks, this has happened like 5 times in five months. i think it might happen after i recieve oral sex back there...not too sure though, if it was an std wouldnt the first test i had at my new doc have picked it up? any ideas or advise would be greatly appreciated, 26 poz florida :-) thanks

It's difficult to make a diagnosis over the Internet and without actually seeing what's going on with your sore butt. I suggest you discuss this problem with your HIV doctor. He may also want to examine you when you are symptomatic. One possibility is genital herpes. With a few simple tests your doctor should be able to pinpoint the diagnosis. Once a diagnosis is made, whatever it happens to be, specific treatment should be able to resolve the problem. You should also talk to your HIV specialist about the possibility of beginning HAART if your T-cells are consistently running around 300.
