OraQuick ADVANCE with sinus troubles
May 18, 2006

Hi Dr. Bob: I am going for a test at the 6 month mark and the clinic uses OraQuick ADVANCE Rapid HIV-1/2 Antibody Test. I have been suffering from a cold/sinus infection/throat irritation for about 3weeks. My question is.....should I wait until I feel better or am completely cured before I go in for the test? Or do you know if being sick will affect the OraQuick in some way?

Thanks

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hi,

Your cold/sinus/throat symptoms will not affect OraQuick Advance Rapid HIV tests. I see no need to postpone your test.

Good luck!

Dr. Bob
