| testing vs worrying May 12, 2006 I have posted a question on this site before but it was not answered. However, since I have read so many previous posts and the good doctor's response that I thought I would add my experience to those that have gone before me. 13 weeks ago I had protected vaginal sex and performed unprotected oral sex on a sex worker. 15 days to the day, I got a sore throat that lasted 2 weeks along with a still neck and groin. I felt what I thought was swollen glands. My GP said he saw some sores on my throat. I also had low body temperature (New England Journal) said this could be a ARS sign. These symptoms stopped and I began to have dizzy spells that lasted two weeks. 6 weeks later I developed stomach cramps and the runs. I have read that oral sex is low risk but have agonized for the last 13 weeks. At 13 weeks and 5 days I took an HIV test convinced that I would be positive. Well guess what. The results are back and they were negative. Long story to try to reassure everyone as the doctor has done many, many times, symptoms do not equal postive results. Be safe and thank you Doc for making this site abai |
