anal area concern
Mar 31, 2001

My question is actually regading an anonymous meeting I had in a sauna with another male. He reached over and touched my testicles and the put his finger between my wet butt cheeks toward my anus. I am pretty sure that his finger didnt penetrate my anus but it could have come close. I looked at his finger when he did it and I didnt see any blood on it. Am I at as a minmial risk as I believe I am? I checked down in that region numerous times to see if I had any bleeding but there was none. Please advise.

Response from Mr. Kull

It is highly unlikely that you would get infected by someone inserting their finger into your anus. If they had infected fluids on their finger (like semen or blood), there is a theoretical risk, but the odds of infection still remain quite low. There is no evidence that anyone has ever been infected through having a finger inserted into their anus or vagina. Please read through my response to "Getting fingered" (http://www.thebody.com/Forums/AIDS/SafeSex/Archive/TransmissionSexual/Q14949.qna).
