|hepatitus transmision from corpse
Apr 8, 2006
I recentley cleaned an apartment after a person had died and decomposed for at least 5 days. I later found out that she had hepatitus C and aids. I used clorix cleaner. A friend said hepatitus could survive for a long time after someone died. Could I get hepatitus C from cleaning body fluids or from the air that I breathed?

I see no risk of acquiring either hepatitis C or HIV from the cleaning activities you describe. And no, you cannot catch either from breathing. Neither is an airborne virus.
