| sex after taking ARV's Mar 23, 2006 I was bitten by an AIDS patient and put on ARV's for 28 days.I have tested negative after 6 weeks.Is it still necessary to use condoms when making love with my wife who is also HIV negative? |

Hello, I would recommend you continue using condoms with your wife until your final HIV follow-up test confirms your negative HIV status. If, for instance, you are a health care worker who had a significant enough exposure to warrant PEP, the US Public Health Service Guidelines recommend follow-up HIV testing out to six months.
