Blood Test
Mar 28, 2001

Hi, I am 20 years old, I lost my virginity when i was 16-17. I recently went for a blood test because I have been having headaches, dizzy spells etc.

I havnt had a blood test since I have been with this guy, I cant remember if he used a condom or not. I have not had any other sexual partners.

My question is, could it take this long for HIV or AIDS to show up. I feel really dumb for asking, but I dont know the *time period* for these diseases.

Thank You, so much!

THe blood test wont be ready untill next week and Im really nervous. I just want some type of answer.

Response from Mr. Kull

Please read through "Approximate Timeline of Testing and Symptoms of AIDS" (http://www.thebody.com/sowadsky/timeline.html) for more information on your time period question.

Waiting to get a test result can be a scary experience. Try not to stress out too much while you wait for your result. There is a good chance it will be negative and trying to figure out whether or not you are infected will just make you more anxious.
