Hi Doc, is sweating more than usuall during simple and regular activity (walking, running, heat) a symptom of HIV. The reason I'm worried is that 5 diffrent people on "the body" have asked this question... all at risk for HIV, of course... is it Chance or do we all 5 have HIV. I have high stress from all this.. could stress change sweat patterns even at times of no anxiousness.

Thank you Hot and sweaty

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hey Hot and Sweaty,

Yes, the five folks who mentioned excessive sweating were all at risk for HIV (or at least they thought they were). They were also all highly stressed over their potential risk. Excessive sweating is a symptom of stress and anxiety, not HIV. "Hot and Sweaty," on the other hand, is a symptom of great sex.
