transmission in hot tubs/pools
Jul 8, 2005

can joeshmo get hiv/aids if the affected hiv patient billybob urinates in the same pool or hot tub that joeshmo is in at the time?

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hello,

Pool pee-pee???? Again???? Aughhhhhh! Another QTND (Question That Never Dies)

Listen, even if Billy Bob is infected (as opposed to being "affected") with HIV and decides to piss directly on Joe Schmo in the pool or while lying on his rubby ducky floaty, there is no HIV risk. Urine is a sterile fluid and does not contain HIV. Finally, it might be easier to potty train Billy Bob not to pee pee in the pool if you limited his beer intake. Only a suggestion. Only a suggestion. After all, it's your pool.

Dr. Bob
