Please Help a Nice Catholic Boy: Prostate Massage
May 29, 2005

Please Help Me Educate My Doctor

Dear Dr. Bob:

Even if you dont answer this, Dr. Bob, please tell me how to donate by credit card, okay?

Im literally falling to pieces, and my family doctor is treating my concerns as trivial. Im turning to you, Dr. Bob for advice on how to talk to my doctor. Perhaps you know the correct terminology that I can use to when I talk to him again (soon)

Simply, put: I went to a massage parlor. Latex-protected blow job. Im not worried about this, because I inspected the condom before and after and absolutely no leaks or breaks.

During the BJ, the lady gave me a prostate massage with lots of lube (yuk). Overall, not a pleasant experience as she was a little rough with my prostate, and it ended up being inflamed for about 5-6 days afterward causing funny urination patterns.

I went to my doctor freaking out because what if her finger was bleeding inside of me.

I admit that I did not inspect her finger per se. But when showed me the condom, I did not see blood. When she put the condom on me, I did not see blood. After the prostate massage, she gave me a massage on pectoral muscles to relax them, and again, I did not see blood.

My doctor suggested to me that I use common sense, about this prostate massage. My doctor said that surely I would have noticed a bleeding finger. Furthermore, my doctor said that inflammation of the prostate upon a rough prostate massage is not surprising. He gave me Cipro just in case!

His ultimate advice to me was:

**Use common sense. Did I see blood on her finger or hand, despite not formally inspecting her hands? My doctor said, Certainly, you would have noticed blood on her hand while she was giving you a pectoral massage immediately after the prostate massage? My doctor said that I was not using my common sense. His reasoning: certainly if finger were actively bleeding inside your rectum, it would not all of a sudden just stopped bleeding 60 seconds later when she gave you a massage on your pectorals.

**Stop worrying about a no risk incident. That the prostate got a little inflamed has nothing to do with HIV.

Dr. Bob, what do you think? Please be detailed.

Dr. Bob, please tell me what I can do to educate my doctor. HELP, please. Believe it or not, Im freaking out.

Dear Dr. Bob:

I will try to be as detailed as possible. I went to a massage parlor. I negotiated for a blow job. I got a latex protected blow job. No worried there. After I came, I inspected the condom, and no leaking or breakage.

My concern: during the BJ (for about 2 minutes or much less), the massease massage my prostate. She used tons of lube, but she was pretty forceful. I think I ended up with a case of temporary inflammed prostrate, because it did affect my urination for about 5 days. My doctor gave me CIPRO to reduce inflammation.

Now, I'm freaking out. What if her finger (middle were bleeding).

My doctor is telling me that I need to use common sense. His advice was: (1) you would have noticed one bleeding finger.

I did not specifically look for blood or the absence of blood, but I never saw any blood on her hand or any of her fingers. When she put the condom on, I was watching her to make sure that she did it correctly, and I saw no blood. After the prostate massage, I got a regular massage on my pectorals, and again, I did not see any blood. I think I would have seen it at that point.

My doctor think I'm playing the famous "what if's" games...and his advice is to put all this behind me as there was no risk. He also said that unless I have razor blades in my anus, the masseuse will not have "suddenly" cut her finger inside my anus.

Now that I'm writing this, it does seem to me that I'm way overreacting and indeed am playing the "what if's." The reality is that I saw no blood before the BJ, after the BJ, after the prostate massage, nor during the regular massage of my pectorals.

HOWEVER: Dr. Bob, I really would appreciate you reassuring me, please.

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hello Nice Catholic Boy,

I combined your two questions that arrived within one day of each other. It appears that you are indeed beginning to think more rationally about your risk, or more accurately, lack thereof. I totally agree with your doctor. He's not the one that needs educating! Rather, I think some counseling might help yet another "nice Catholic boy" deal more effectively with his guilt and unwarranted fears.

Credit card donations can be made on the Foundation's Web site at www.concertedeffort.org. Just click on donate and fill in the boxes! Thank you for your willingness to help others.

Feel better, OK?

Dr. Bob
