| Can HIV spread through talking closely? Mar 12, 2005 Dear sir, I have asked same questions 2 times, but I did not receive answer, so I am still very worried. One week ago, I had a close talk with a girl who has HIV. The distance between us is about 20 cm. And we just talked less than 2 minutes. I know that everyday talking can not spread HIV, but how about talking closely? Is there any risk when talking closely? I am very worried about it, give me a direct answer please! many thanks, Worried man |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hello, You really wonder if HIV can be transmitted by talking closely??? Dude, HIV is a virus; it cannot fly through the air like Superman or teleport itself from place to place like the folks on Star Trek. If you are very worried about talking, you are very worried over nothing at all. Even if she whispered sweet nothings directly into your ear, they would still be just sweet nothings, OK? Stay well. Stop worrying. Dr. Bob | |||||||||
