Is syphilis testing definitive 14 weeks after a potential exposure?

Jan 2, 2005

Hi Bob,

Are the results of a syphilis blood test conclusive & definitive 14 weeks and 1 day (i.e. 99 days) after a potential exposure?

Many thanks, Mike

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hi Mike,

I don't know which blood test you had done VDRL? RPR? but yes, syphilis would indeed be detectable at the 14-week mark!

Good luck! And remember to play safe to avoid future worry!
