bondage question

Aug 30, 2004

Dr. Bob,

I recently had a bondage experience where the woman placed some nipple clamps on me and whipped me. Both activities went on for a very short period of time. There were no fluids on the equipment as far as I could tell and my skin was not broken during either activity. However, I am extremely worried about this experience. Is there any way for small traces of something to get on my skin from the clamps or whips and then infect me? I got an HIV test a week after and got a negative, but since that will not mean anything for a few months, I am very worried. Has anyone ever been infected by trace blood or semen on an object, like a clamp or whip? Thank you for your time.

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hi Brooklyn,

You're getting nipple clamped and whipped in Brooklyn??? Oh, that's right, the GOP convention is in town this week, isn't it?

If, as you indicate, there were no fluids on the "equipment" and your skin was not broken, then your risk for HIV should be nonexistent.

Play safe. Stay well.

Dr. Bob
