| Home Test Mar 21, 2001 Do you believe that the home access test is as effective as test in the doctors office. And if so does the same window periods apply? |

Response from Mr. Kull
The Home Access HIV-1 antibody testing kit claims to be 99.9% accurate and as accurate as the antibody tests performed in a doctor's office. The window period line is the same for the home tests--most infected people will develop a detectable amount of antibodies in three months, while some people may take as long as six months. Home Access (www.homeaccess.com) is the only home testing kit approved in the United States by the FDA. Others should not be used. RMK | |||
