what is more risky as far as acquiring HIV infection: having unprotected sex with a woman (insertive vaginal sex) or having unprotected sex with a gay man (receptive anal sex). How much of a risk differential is there between the two?
| Response from Mr. Spinks
Hello, Once again, it's not who you are but what you do that puts you at risk for HIV infection. This is why it's so important to focus on behaviors. We know that unprotected vaginal and anal sex are both considered higher risk sexual behaviors. Therefore, I urge you to use a latex condom with water-based lubricant each and every time to greatly reduce your risk. Take care and be safe!
