| Protected Sex With Prostitute,Scared of STDS! Nov 10, 2003 Hi Dr.Bob.I recently attended a bachelor party where I got very drunk and against my better judgement had sex with a hooker.Of course I used a latex condom, but still I'm petrified I may have caught something! Especially since 2 days later I have soreness in my inner thigh area. Not my balls or penis, just thighs. Is that a precursor to an STD? What if anything am I at risk for? The condom stayed on the whole time.I've also heard that prostitutes are carrying a degenerative muscle disease these days, have you heard of this? Please respond A.S.A.P. as everyday my stress level increases to the point of not being able to function at work. |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hello, Prostitutes are carrying a degenerative muscle disease??? Where did you read that? The Sunday church bulletin? A properly used latex condom will prevent the vast majority of STD's. Sore inner thighs are not a symptom or precursor to any STD. Maybe you strained a muscle while thrusting or playing naked twister with the call girl? Or maybe the hooker was a big-boned full-figured gal (or guy) who bounced on your thighs a bit too vigorously? In any case, STD screening is readily available at any physician's office or neighborhood clinic. Why stress when help is so readily available? Do I think you have anything to stress about? No, not really. But, I can't really examine you over the Internet either. So, if you continue to be worried or develop new symptoms, go get checked out! It really is that simple. Stay well.
