Not FDA Approved - Please answer 2nd time askingOct 3, 2003 Dear Dr. Bob: I purchased a test kit from the internet that is not FDA approved and held copies of HIV Virus in it. After I had punctured my finger to take the test, I had accidently touched the test strip containing the HIV Virus. My question is, is it possible to get infected from HIV if the dead virus gets in your blood stream?? I ask this because the test is not FDA approved, because I've received mixed answers from Doctors and because I've read that Vaccines won't use dead HIV virus because of the risk of infection... THANK YOU -Scared |

![]() | Response from Dr. FrascinoHello Scared, No, it is absolutely impossible to contract HIV form a test kit. As an aside, why use a test kit that is not FDA-approved? The results really can't be trusted. Dr. Bob | ||||||||
