seroconversion and cbc
May 29, 2003

i might have been exposed to hiv during hetero contact I am a female and the condom broke i have always had normal labs but 10 days after possible exposure i had a cbc with wbc of 10.9(slightly high) and lymph of 16.4(I understand is low)mono @ 0.6 also slightly elvated and gran at 8.2(above normal also) does this sound like it could be early hiv? or something else? i appreciate your time and thank you very much

Response from Mr. Kull

If you are concerned about acute infection, you should talk with your doctor about your risk and determine with her whether or not early detection is necessary. CBC is not an appropriate method for early detection.
